The difference

What goes in is what comes out

Wispr Flow starts from your voice. You say the words you want, and it cleans them up and types them. That is fast and good when you already know exactly what to write.

Scrubbr starts from your context. You give a few words, such as "reply to Priya and answer her three questions". Scrubbr reads the email thread, the Slack conversation or the meeting notes behind it, then writes the full reply at your cursor. You do not copy and paste anything.

So the question is simple. Do you need your own words typed faster, or do you need the writing done from what is already in your tools?

Fair fit

When Wispr Flow is the better fit

  • You want your own spoken words typed exactly, with no extra context. That is what dictation is for.
  • You use Windows, iPhone or Android. Scrubbr is Mac only.
  • You dictate in many languages. Its docs say Flow types for you in any app, "in over 100 languages."
  • You want to start on a free plan. Wispr Flow's free plan has 2,000 words a week on desktop.
  • You want unlimited dictation. Pro is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed annually, the same price as Scrubbr.
  • You need a SOC 2 Type II report today. Wispr Flow says it holds one, audited by A-LIGN. Scrubbr's SOC 2 Type I audit is engaged, and it is not yet SOC 2-attested.
  • You want a meeting recorder. Wispr Flow has a Notetaker for Zoom, Meet, Teams and Slack huddles.

Use both

Dictate with one, write with the other

The two do different jobs. Use Wispr Flow when you want your own words typed as you say them. Use Scrubbr when the writing depends on something in your inbox, your chats or your meetings. Each app has its own shortcut, so check both in Settings so they do not clash.
