What does Scrubbr read from Outlook, and what does it never do?

What Scrubbr reads

  • Message metadata (sender, recipient, subject, timestamps, labels) and message body content.
  • Calendar events: titles, attendees, times, locations and descriptions.
  • For attachments, only the filename, type and size.
  • Your contacts, to turn an email address into a name and photo.
  • Mailbox settings: your working hours, your timezone and the Outlook category list.
  • Meeting rooms, for the room picker when you set a location.

What Scrubbr never does

  • Nothing is sent to another person without your explicit action: a click, or a voice command you confirm.
  • Never permanently deletes your mail.
  • Never asks for OneDrive or SharePoint access. No files, and no attachment bytes.
  • Never stores attachment content, and never sends it to an AI model.
  • Never trains AI models on your content, and never sells your personal information.
  • Never lets staff read your messages without your approval, except to act on a security incident or a legal obligation.

How do you connect Outlook to Scrubbr?

  1. Choose Start with Outlook below. Scrubbr takes you to Microsoft's sign-in.
  2. Review the permissions on Microsoft's own screen and accept.
  3. Connect the other apps you use. With a Microsoft sign-in you can add Slack or Google Chat, and Teams on a work account.
  4. Scrubbr shows your dashboard while it brings in your recent messages first. Older history keeps arriving in the background.

Does Scrubbr replace Outlook?

No. Scrubbr.ai is the calm front door. Your mail still lives in Outlook, and one click takes you to a thread in its own app.

Does Scrubbr work with a personal Outlook account?

Yes, for mail and calendar. Personal outlook.com, hotmail.com and live.com accounts work. Teams needs a work or school Microsoft 365 account.

Why does Microsoft ask for admin approval?

Some Microsoft 365 organizations block third-party apps until an administrator approves them. The Microsoft consent screen says so when this is the case. An admin approves Scrubbr once for the whole organization, and after that everyone can connect.

Can Scrubbr send Outlook mail on its own?

What does Scrubbr read in Outlook?
