What does Scrubbr do with Google Chat?

It lists the spaces and direct messages you belong to, reads their messages, ranks what needs you, and sends a reply as you only when you approve a draft.

  • Ranks and summarizes your Google Chat messages, and drafts replies for you to approve.
  • Sends an approved draft reply as you.
  • Shows who is in a space, and suggests names as you @mention.
  • Lets you react with an emoji, and shows the reactions other people leave.
  • Adds or removes space members, or leaves a space, when you ask from inside Scrubbr.

What does Scrubbr read from Google Chat, and what does it never do?

What Scrubbr reads

  • The spaces and direct messages you belong to, so it knows which conversations to sync. No message content comes from this permission.
  • Message text from those spaces.
  • Who is in the spaces you already belong to. The list shows live in your browser and is not stored on Scrubbr's servers.
  • Emoji reactions on messages in spaces you already belong to.
  • For attachments, file references only. They stay in Google Chat.

What Scrubbr never does

  • Never sends a reply without your approval.
  • Never changes who is in a space unless you take that action yourself.
  • Never creates a new direct-message space unless you send a message to someone you have not chatted with before.
  • Never lists the members of spaces you are not in.
  • Never changes the content of a chat message. Only your own reactions.
  • Never stores attachment content.
  • Never trains AI models on your content, and never sells your personal information.
  • Never lets staff read your messages without your approval, except to act on a security incident or a legal obligation.
