What does Scrubbr do with Microsoft Teams?

It reads the chats and channels you belong to, ranks what needs you, and drafts replies that send only when you approve.

  • Shows your 1:1 and group chats and the channels of your teams in the same room list as Slack direct messages.
  • Raises a message that mentions you in a chat or a channel.
  • Posts your replies as you, with no "via Scrubbr" tag.
  • Lets you react with the six reactions Teams accepts: like, heart, laugh, surprised, sad and angry.

What does Scrubbr read from Microsoft Teams, and what does it never do?

What Scrubbr reads

  • Channel and direct-message metadata, and message text from the chats and teams your account belongs to.
  • The names and IDs of your teams and channels, so it knows what to sync. No content comes from that list.
  • Only the teams you are a member of, and only the channels inside them.
  • For attachments, only the filename, type and size.

What Scrubbr never does

  • Never sends a reply without your approval.
  • Never acts as a bot. You send from your own account.
  • Never stores attachment content, and never sends it to an AI model.
  • Never trains AI models on your content, and never sells your personal information.
  • Never lets staff read your messages without your approval, except to act on a security incident or a legal obligation.

How do you connect Microsoft Teams to Scrubbr?

  1. Start with Gmail or Outlook first. Scrubbr uses your Google or Microsoft sign-in to open your account.
  2. Use a Microsoft 365 work or school account for Teams. Personal outlook.com, hotmail.com and live.com accounts cannot connect it.
  3. Connect Teams in the connect step. It is a separate consent from Outlook, so you can connect either one without the other.
  4. Your IT admin may need to approve Scrubbr. Reading channel messages needs administrator consent. Chats often work on your own consent alone.

Questions about Microsoft Teams and Scrubbr

Does Teams need a work or school account?

Yes. Teams works only on a Microsoft 365 work or school account. Microsoft does not expose Teams chat to personal outlook.com, hotmail.com or live.com accounts.

Why does Teams ask for admin approval?

Reading channel messages needs a permission that Microsoft grants only with administrator consent. Chats often work on your own consent alone. Channels wait on your admin.

Can Scrubbr send Teams messages on its own?

No. Replies are sent only when you approve them.

Can I use Teams without Outlook?

Yes. Teams is a separate consent from Outlook, so you can connect either one without the other. You can also add Teams to an account you opened with Google.

Can I attach a file to a Teams message from Scrubbr?

Not yet. Scrubbr refuses the send, so it never posts your text without the file. Send the text from Scrubbr and share the file in Teams.
