The situation
A good prompt needs the context you forget to type
An AI tool is only as good as its prompt. A good prompt names the people, the goal, the limits and the format you want. Most of that detail lives in your email, your chats and your call notes, not in your head.
So you write a long prompt and paste context in by hand. Or you send a short one and get a generic answer, the "Dear Marcus, I hope this email finds you well" kind.
What you press
Brain dump. Get a real prompt.
It works the same in every AI tool.
-
1. Hold Option in the prompt box
Open ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, hold Option and say what you want in your own words. Rambling is fine.
-
2. Scrubbr adds the facts
It looks in your email, chats and meeting notes for the people, dates and decisions behind your request.
-
3. A structured prompt appears
The prompt names a role, the task, the context, the limits and the output you want. You press send in the AI tool.
What it reads
What Scrubbr pulls in for a prompt
It only uses the apps you have connected.
| App | What Scrubbr can use it for here |
|---|---|
| Gmail | Who is involved, what was asked and what was promised, from the email thread behind your request. |
| Outlook | The same for Outlook mail. |
| Slack | Recent decisions and status from channels and threads. |
| Granola | Notes and action items from the call you are working on. |
| Google Calendar | Dates and attendees for the meeting or deadline. |
Worked example
From a brain dump to a prompt that works
Alex needs a rollout plan. He says it the way he thinks it.
In ChatGPT
Empty prompt box.
You say
optionI need a rollout plan for Halcyon, about 500 people, Priya is their IT person, they want it live by November, include Google sign-in and training, not too long.
Scrubbr finds
Gmail · Halcyon thread
Slack · #halcyon-deal
Granola · Halcyon IT call
ChatGPT · Prompt
You are an experienced onboarding manager for business software.
Task: Write a rollout plan for Halcyon, a 500-person customer.
Context: Priya Shah (IT lead) owns sign-in and the security review. Nothing goes live without her sign-off. Daniel Cho (finance) approves the budget. Their sales team lives in Salesforce, and our Salesforce sync has been live since Oct 14. Target go-live: November.
Constraints: Google sign-in before anyone is invited. A small pilot group first, then one team at a time. Training for admins and end users. Under one page.
Output: A week-by-week table (week, task, owner, done when), then the top 3 risks.
Example only. The people, company and facts are invented.
Tips
Say it the way you think it
-
Brain dump, then stop
You do not need to order your thoughts. Say the goal, the people and the limits in any order.
-
Name the output you want
Say "a table", "three bullets" or "under one page". The prompt will ask the AI tool for that format.
-
Switch tools, keep the context
Hold Option in ChatGPT today and in Claude tomorrow. Scrubbr uses the same context in both. Compare them in ChatGPT vs Claude.
“I brain dump what I want built, and Scrubbr turns it into the perfect prompt for Claude Code. Every time.”
Questions
AI prompt questions
Which AI tools does it work in?
Any app with a text cursor, including ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Gemini and Perplexity. Press Option in the prompt box.
Does Scrubbr send the prompt for me?
No. It writes the prompt in the box. You read it and send it yourself.
What goes to the AI tool?
Only the prompt text that Scrubbr writes in the box. You see it before you send it, so you decide what goes to the AI tool.
Does Scrubbr replace ChatGPT or Claude?
No. It writes the prompt, and you use the AI tool you like. Not sure which one? Read ChatGPT vs Claude.
Is my data safe when I write prompts?
Scrubbr reads the field you are in only for that one turn, then writes the prompt at your cursor in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor. You send it. Scrubbr does not use your content to train AI models. The Trust page lists exactly what the desktop app reads.
What does it cost to write prompts with Scrubbr?
The first 3 days cost nothing, and no card is needed. Add a card for 7 more days. After that it costs $15 a month, or $144 a year, which is $12 a month. See the pricing page.
