Stop pasting context into ChatGPT
To stop pasting context into ChatGPT, keep your background in the tools where it already lives and let Scrubbr pull the right pieces into each prompt. Hold Option, say one line, and Scrubbr writes the full prompt at your cursor in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, with the facts from your email, chat, notes and company knowledge base already in it.

The usual fixes, and what each leaves to you
Most people try ChatGPT's own features first: Memory, custom instructions and Projects.
They are a fair first step. This guide names them and leaves the how-it-works to OpenAI's help pages. What we can say is what stays on your side of the desk, whichever one you pick.
| The fix | What you still do by hand |
|---|---|
| Memory | Check what it holds about your company against today's facts. |
| Custom instructions | Write the text once, then edit it when your price, offer or tone changes. |
| Projects | Put your documents in, then swap them when they go out of date. |
Saved text is only as fresh as your last edit. Picture a founder who raised prices in September while the saved file still shows July: the quote that comes out is wrong, and the customer notices before you do. The live material is the other part you paste: this morning's email thread, the Slack argument, the notes from yesterday's call.
If you use one assistant and your background is a short paragraph that rarely changes, these features may be all you need. Scrubbr is for the case where the background is spread across your apps and changes every day.
Claude and Gemini
Claude and Gemini: the same job, three times
If ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini each hold a copy of your background, you set up and update it three times.
Claude and Gemini have their own ways to save your background. Anthropic and Google document those features themselves, so this guide only names them.
The published advice is the same in all three. Anthropic's best-practices page has a section headed "Add context to improve performance". Google's tips for Gemini say to give it background details, and Google's Workspace guide says to use your own files in Google Drive to make the output fit you. OpenAI's API guide lists context as one of the parts of a prompt.
So the advice is to give the context. Doing it by hand, in each assistant, is the work Scrubbr takes over. Scrubbr is not inside any of the three. It writes in the box you are typing in, so the same facts reach all of them.
What it reads
Where Scrubbr finds the context
Each thing you used to paste now comes from the app that already holds it.
| What you used to paste | Where Scrubbr reads it |
|---|---|
| The email thread | Gmail or Outlook |
| The chat discussion | Slack, Microsoft Teams or Google Chat |
| Notes from a call | Granola |
| The day and time of a meeting | Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar |
| The deal or the customer's details | Your CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce) |
| Your price, your process and your company facts | Your knowledge base |
You choose which tools to connect. Scrubbr looks only when your line needs facts, and it takes only the pieces that help. It sees the app you are in and the box you are typing in only while you hold the key.
Four steps
How it works at your cursor
You stay in the assistant's own box. Nothing is copied between tabs.
- Click into the box. Open ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any app with a text cursor, and click where you would type.
- Hold Option and say it roughly. "Reply to Ines, say sorry, it's fixed" is enough.
- Scrubbr looks. It finds the thread, the chat and the facts that match your line.
- It writes the prompt. The prompt comes out in six parts: goal, facts, steps, limits, format and what a great answer looks like. You read it, change what you want, and send it.
Save your price and company facts in the knowledge base once. When the price changes, you change it there, and every assistant gets the new number.
Worked example
From "reply to Ines" to a prompt that works
Tomás runs Marlowe Reports, a small reporting tool, and an upset customer has a nine-message thread going since last night. He has ChatGPT open and no time to paste the thread.
In ChatGPT
You say
optionreply to Ines, say sorry, it's fixed now, I'll call her today, keep it calm and not too long, and she's the one with the board meeting
Scrubbr finds
Gmail · Ines Okafor, "Export failed" (9 messages)
Slack · #support, Kenji Mori: "Fix shipped 8:40"

ChatGPT · Prompt
Goal: Write a calm reply to Ines Okafor at Cobbett Freight. Her report export failed the night before her board meeting. Say sorry, say it is fixed, and offer a call today.
Facts: Ines is the operations lead. The monthly export failed at 9:40 pm on Tuesday, and she needed it for a 9:00 am board meeting on Wednesday. She presented from a screenshot. Kenji Mori, our engineer, shipped the fix at 8:40 am on Wednesday. Our credit policy: a failure that blocks a customer's deadline earns one month's credit. Tomás is the founder and makes the call today.
Steps: 1. Say sorry in the first line. 2. Say what broke and that it is fixed now. 3. Mention the one-month credit. 4. Say Tomás will call today and ask what time suits her.
Limits: Warm and plain, like Tomás's earlier emails in the thread. No "we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience". Do not guess the cause. Do not promise a time for the call.
Format: One email under 120 words, no bullets, signed Tomás.
A great answer: Ines reads it in under a minute, believes it, and picks a time for the call.
Demo data. The people, company and facts are invented.
Questions
Questions on pasting context
How do I stop pasting context into ChatGPT every time?
Keep your background in the tools where it already lives, and use a tool that pulls the right pieces into each prompt. Scrubbr does this at your cursor: hold Option, say one line, and it writes the prompt with the facts from your email, chat, notes and knowledge base in it.
Do ChatGPT Memory, custom instructions and Projects fix it?
They are the usual first step, and for a small background that rarely changes they may be enough. OpenAI's help pages are the place to learn how each one works. Whatever you save in them, you keep up to date by hand.
How do I share the same context between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini?
Keep your facts in one place outside the three assistants, and bring them in where you type. With Scrubbr, the facts stay in your own apps and your knowledge base, so the same facts reach the prompt in any assistant you open.
Which of my apps does Scrubbr read?
Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Granola, plus your CRM (HubSpot and Salesforce) and a knowledge base. You choose which tools to connect, and Scrubbr takes only the pieces that help with your line.
Does it only work in ChatGPT?
No. Any app with a text cursor works, so you can use it in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other box where you type. It runs on Mac and on Windows.
What does Scrubbr cost?
It is $12 a month on the yearly plan and $15 a month on the monthly plan. The first 3 days are free, and you do not need a card.
